It will enable the DLNA connectivity, micro HDMI, and the micro USB.
The Blackberry Playbook connects through Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n. Another feature is the Bluetooth 2.1 in addition to EDR. It is powered by the QNX platform. This offers multi-tasking capabilities.
