Nexus S works at 60,000 feet

Google boffins were surprised when the Android Nexus S, the new Android smartphone was able to work in the Earth's outer atmosphere at 60,000 feet.

The Androids were strapped to seven payloads to test the outer limits of Nexus S were carried into the Earth's outer atmosphere using weather balloons. Zi Wang of Google Android said that the plan was to collect some data about the sensors in Nexus S such as GPS, gyroscope, accelerometer, and magnetometer. The phones were running a variety of applications such as Google maps for Mobile 5.0, which allowed the team to check what was directly below the balloon and Google sky map to identify the stars and report their location.

Google found that the Nexus S could withstand temperatures as low as minus 50 degrees celsius, while the GPS kept track of the phone up to 60,000 ft and started working again on the balloon's descent, Google said. The balloons reached 100,000 feet and travelled at up to a speed of 139 mph during the test. All seven high-altitude balloons were launched November 13. But many times ppl miss this article. So today I decided to write a small separate tutorial about it:


Just follow these steps
1. Open "%windir%\Explorer.exe" file in Resource Hacker.

2. Go to:

"String Table -> 37 -> 1033 -> 578" (If you are using Luna theme)

"String Table -> 38 -> 1033 -> 595" (If you are using Windows Classic theme)

3. You'll get a string "start". Just change it with whatever text you want to show. Make sure you put quotes.

4. Compile the script and save the file. That's it. You have done.
Note: you have to save a copy of it before running Resource Hacker

NFS Shift 2 to offer Limited Edition

As has been the way of things at Electronic Arts these days, the upcoming release of Need for Speed: Shift 2 will be released initially as a Limited Edition title. EA is following the successful formula that they have used recently with a number of titles such as Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 where the initial run of the titles are packaged in a Limited Edition version.

Those who pick up the Limited Edition of Shift 2 release will receive a code that allows the owner to download three cars at no additional charge that are likely to be bundled and sold as a downloadable add-on later on after the game has been out for some time.

The three cars to be included are said to be the Nissan Siliva Spec-R Aero, Lamborghini Murcielago LP640, and the Alfa Romeo Giulietta QV. These bonus cars that will be included in the Limited Edition version should give players a leg up on competitors.

It is unclear as of yet how long these cars will be exclusive to buyers, but free is free; and for those who are planning to purchase Shift 2 they will want to capitalize on this offering and make sure that they get one of the Limited Edition versions of the game when it is released.
